A nonprofit organization dedicated to training the next generation’s green workforce
and creating equitable pathways to green jobs.
The co-founders of Energy Bees, Sadie and Ashley, have a passion for green industry careers and exposing students to all that the industry has to offer. They believe ALL students can have a path to a green job if they choose to take it, but they need to know these jobs exist and which path to take.
Sadie and Ashley share an unwavering commitment to collaborating with school districts, strategically managing their utility resources for optimal efficiency. Through this dedicated endeavor, they have directly engaged with students, guiding commercial establishments towards energy conservation. The results were not just positive; they were truly remarkable. The enthusiastic participation of the students, combined with the satisfaction of the clients, formed a backdrop where many of the interns they mentored found their way to prestigious institutions.
These young individuals, each unique, shared a common thread: privilege. They came armed with high grades, the necessary support systems, and the capacity to flourish. While this experience was undoubtedly uplifting, it also cast a spotlight on the divide between those with privilege and those without, particularly within the burgeoning green industry.
This realization fueled the inception of BEE Project in June of 2019. The founders of Energy Bees, driven by a vision to bridge this gap, harnessed essential resources and enlisted the guidance of independent board members. Recognizing that empowering the youth who need it most necessitates enhanced support, collaborative partnerships, and resources beyond the scope of the for-profit sector, BEE Project was born.
